Would you like to have a Royal Tennenbaum game closet? Have you seen the flick? It is our goal to literally have a closet completely jammed full of family games.

We recently added Suspend to our ever-growing collection. This weekend we took it to our local coffee shop to try it out. We had a blast.

Below are 5 reasons why you must add Suspend to your family game stash:

1. Great for families with a wide range of ages. This game is just plain-old-fashion entertaining for children, tweens and adults alike. The game is geared towards children eight and up, but my ladies who are six and seven have no problems playing. If you have a family with a wide range of ages this is sure to be a hit.

2. The facial expressions are hilarious. Expect participants to demand silence, make hilarious faces while they concentrate and gasp when the pieces come tumbling down. We love to play serious and challenging games (like Rummikub or Blockus) with our girls, but...

There is something wonderful about the laughter and energy it brings into the room.

3. Play straight out of the box. If you hate reading directions as much as I do you'll appreciate the simplicity of Suspend. My girls started playing before I could read the short summary of rules. Watch the video below for a quick preview of how the game works.

4. Your kids will enjoy the feeling of an authentic win. This game is challenging for children and adults. Younger children are often on the lookout for signs that someone is letting them win. No need to hold back with Suspend. Try as hard as you can and there will be times when your kids kick your butt.

5. Alter the directions to make it more challenging. Right now we play a very general version of the game, but Melissa & Doug offer a variety of interesting twists to make it more difficult as players gin experience. Fantastic!

SuspendThe only thing that's so-so about Suspend is the storage. It is challenging for the girls to get all the pieces back into the small plastic container. I do believe this has more to do with their age than the product, but I thought I'd share. We simply got ourselves a different container to store the game within. Problem solved!

Do you have any other games you'd recommend we try?
I'd love if you'd share your suggestions in the comments below.
