How do you keep all of your inspiration in one place? Clipboards are not only great for organization, they make fantastic frames. An entire clipboard inspiration wall canย be a grid to remind or motivateย you. Changing it upย with a fresh feel is so much easier (and less costly) than traditional frame options.

My daughters, 8 and 11, are always looking for places they can hang photos of friends and postcards we've gathered from museums and road trips. After wandering the aisles of our favorite craft store, we agreed that clipboards, especially these cute mini clipboards, would be a much better alternative then taping artย to their bedroom walls (!) or buying frames for every single creation.
How to Make a Clipboard Inspiration Wall:
Making a clipboard inspiration wall is simple and fun even for the newest crafters. *This post contains affiliate links.
- To create your wall, gatherย nine mini clipboards. Selectingย the small size gives youย the flexibility to have many boards in a tight space.
- Paint the boards using acrylic paints.ย Imagine these in a rainbow pattern or even an ombre paint effect from top to bottom - so many good possibilities!ย To coordinate with my daughter' shared room, we decided to paint the boards a flat white.
- Tapeย off the clip hinge, apply one coat and let it dry. Then add a second layer to make sure the brown is completely covered.
- Next, chooseย the nine words you wantย to use. We picked:ย live, love, savor, adore, dream, plan, wish, enjoy, and to do. Mapย those out using your Cricut machine.
- Attach your words to the boards. Thisย goldย vinyl from Cricut has an adhesive backing that allows you to place and place again without losing any stickiness.ย This is a greatย choiceย for this project because when lining up the text youย could make a few mistakes and still get it right.
NOTE: ย If you don't have aย Cricut machine, you can also paint words or use letter stickers to make each clipboard unique.
I decided to hang the gallery with temporary hooks instead of nails so that we could adjust the spacing as we wanted. I've had great success with temporary hooks (like a 3M Command strip)ย as long as the object is neither too heavy nor too big, and for these clipboards, they work really well.
The clipboard inspiration wall works beautifully as an art piece on its own or packed full of projects and finds! What would you clip up?
