Make Halloween night a fun learning opportunity for your children with this free educational trick-or-treat printable for kids. Have them track their loot!
. . .
Oh the joy of trick-or-treating! Halloween night is a great opportunity to practice real-life math skills in a way that is fun for the kids. Don't miss the opportunity.
This year we'll be sorting and charting our girls' Halloween loot. This educational trick-or-treating printable up has some of the top brand candy bars for easy tracking. I mean who likes Almond Joys, anyway? This chart shows the "good stuff." Grab some markers, have your kids' dump their candy, and then track their loot. It is that simple. I promise, they'll love comparing their chart with their siblings.
After we're done charting, we'll also play simple adding and subtraction games, like "If Mom eats three of your twelve Kitty Kat bars how many will you have left?" (My little Rose says Kitty Kat bars and it is just so flipping' cute. I probably should correct her, but I don't have the heart to do so.)
If you have an older child you can ask more advanced math questions like, "What percentage of your loot has chocolate in it?"
I'd like to share our Track Your Loot sheet with you. Click here to print a copy for yourself.
While this educational trick-or-treat printable is a simple start; you could also have your child design their own chart for fun. For example, the different colors in a bag of Skittles would be an awesome chart to create. Simply munch and track, munch and track. Halloween is a great chance to make playing with numbers fun. Oh the delicious possibilities!
