Try Dip Genius

No matter the occasion, Dip Genius will help you find the perfect corresponding dip recipe. You can search based on things like: your mood, party occasion, and classic recipe hits. (For example, if you’re hosting a get-together during the playoff season, there are Big Game Recipes under the collection titled: Warm Welcome: Party Pleasers for Any Occasion.) Each recipe collection then has a unique set of playful questions underneath it to ensure it’s a custom fit.

You know me… my mind is always on traveling. So, of course, I started with the Wanderlust recipe collection. My custom answers landed me here:

Spicy Sautéed Spinach Dip

I admit, I love spinach dip, but I’m not a big fan of the heavy mayonnaise-based recipes. So when I came across this Spicy Sautéed Spinach Dip recipe on Dip Genius, I was beyond excited to see that the base was Greek yogurt. Suddenly, an unhealthy special-occasion indulgence is transformed into a high-protein weekday treat.

The recipe is super simple, too: a few chops, a dash of this and that, and voila!

This Spicy Spinach Dip (made with Greek Yogurt) sounds insanely delicious *Pinning this for our next party

This is definitely one of those recipes you’ll “need to test” as you make it to ensure it’s just-so. Ok, that’s a lie. I’m just giving you the green light to indulge a bit, because once your party guests or family get their hands on it… it will go fast!

Spicy Sautéed Spinach Dip

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Refrigeration Time: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes

This is an insanely delicious, Spicy Sautéed Spinach Dip recipe.

Ingredients

  • Hidden Valley® Greek Yogurt Dips packet
  • Nonfat Greek yogurt
  • Olive oil
  • Minced garlic
  • Scallions, thinly sliced, white and dark green parts separated
  • Chopped frozen spinach, thawed
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and white and light green parts of the scallions and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add spinach and sauté another 2 to 4 minutes. Stir in red pepper flakes and season to taste with salt and pepper. Set aside to cool.
  2. Mix contents of dip packet with yogurt. Add spinach mixture and dark green parts of the scallions. Stir well to combine. Refrigerate at least 1 hour to thicken.

Notes

Serve with veggies, crackers, or chips. Rolled tortilla chips (showcased above) are perfect for dipping. All that being said, our favorite way to enjoy this recipe is to eat it with toasted flatbread.

You simply slice the flatbread into strips and triangles, spritz with olive oil, and bake at 425 degrees until slightly brown. (If you want to get fancy, you could also throw a bit of garlic salt on the pieces before popping them in the oven.)

As I was making the recipe today, I remembered that I had some naan flatbread in the pantry. Oh, my word. I’m telling you, this is the perfect compliment to this Spicy Sautéed Spinach Dip.

After you’ve mixed your dip ingredients together, pop it in the fridge to chill for a while. Then tend to your flatbread:

Super simple. Crazy delicious. The combination of the outer crunch and inner softness of the flatbread go smashingly with this cool and creamy dip. Of course, that’s the thing about this spicy spinach dip—it tastes amazing on pretty much anything.

Enjoy!
