Are you looking for a unique card this holiday season? Last year I stumbled across a lovely site called Minted. Have you heard of it? They offer designs on the site that have a classic-custom feel.

Below are seven of the "Most Loved" holiday photo cards:

{Most Loved Holiday Cards} *So sweet

Below are five reasons I adore Minted:

  1. Minted will address your envelopes for FREE in a nice handwritten font. Check out the details.
  2. {Wishing you joy, peace, and LOVE} *Cute holiday cardThey offer a "buy now, upload later" program so you can take advantage of their discount offers. Check if there is a sale going on now. If not, hold out until something good comes along.
  3. They have an awesome refer-a-friend program. You score credit for referring friends and family. You earn a $25 credit every time that someone without an existing account spends $100 [full details]. Last year I used this as an opportunity to get get some really high end cards. If you are going to order something, be sure to take advantage of this discount option!
  4. They offer donation requests for communities. You can request a 50% discount for non-profit events. *Very cool.
  5. Ummmmm. I'd like to say that I am tech savvy, but I always seem to fumble with holidays cards and photo uploads. Last year, I couldn't seem to get my photo to upload correctly. Minted offers live chat help, which is handy when you're feeling frustrated. My computer was doing something funky with the file type and they were able to walk me through it. It was nice to resolve the issue straight away.

As a creative junkie, I love their mission:

We believe that great design lives and thrives in the hands of indie designers that people may not have access to through traditional retailers. Our goal is to use technology to allow our community to discover the work of great designers from all over the world.

This year I am toying with the idea of doing a small set of one of their Minibooks™.  It seems like an unique way to do a holiday letter, which is a tradition I love. Below are a few of the most loved designs:

{Handmade Holiday Card} Sew on paper hearts *So simple. So cute. While Minted is a great resource for your overall holiday list, don’t underestimate the power of a handmade card.

To create this simple card:

Find some holiday colored paper, grab a heart punch, get some cheap white stock cards & envelopes, and warm up the sewing machine. Any excuse I have to get the girls sewing I love.

Now, in the original project they use cloth, but I think the paper version turned out adorable too. What a great way to send your teacher a little extra “love” this holiday season. Thank you to Pink & Green Mama for the inspiration!

When is the best time to send holiday cards? Are you an early bird? Shipping them right after Thanksgiving? Or do you find yourself caught up in the holiday chaos and ship later in December? Let's chat in the comments.
