Let's get started...
DIY Duct Tape Flower Pens
This video tutorial was made by kids for kids. In other words, the project is completed at a slow pace your kiddos can follow along with. You can also see photo instructions below!
Step 1
Cut a trip of duct tape to match the length of your pen. Place the tape parallel to the pen and wrap the base. This is your stem. Now, it is time to make the petals! (Video Instruction -- Skip to 0:27)
Step 2
Cut a square of duct tape and fold it over into a partial triangle, leaving a little bit of sticky exposed. Then grab one of the triangle corners and align it to reduce the triangle size in half again. You will have a rectangle of the sticky side of the tape still showing. Wrap your pedal around the top of your pen.
(Video Instruction -- Skip to 1:45)
Step 3
Continue making pedals and wrapping them around the top of your pen. With each pedal addition, move the positioning over slightly to create a rose pattern. Repeat! Repeat! Repeat!
(Video Instruction -- Skip to 3:25)
And you're done ... Easy-peasy lemon squeezy!
This is a fun way to deck-out pens for school at the beginning of the year. A bouquet of pens would also make a great teacher gift at the end of the year.
