This family garden project is so easy and inexpensive. If you've got little dinosaur fanatics in the house, check it out. I just had to grab my camera and take pics to share with you.
We've always done fairy gardens with the girls, but I think this year we might need to branch out. Our neighbor showed up with a bag from the Dollar Store and her two boys did this awesome family garden project.
This family garden project is so simple...
Dollar Store Dinosaur Gardens
- Small tub or pot
- Stones from the yard or fancy ones from the store
- Plants or flowers (plastic or fake)
- Dirt
- DINOSAURS
Instructions:
- If your bucket doesn't have holes, be sure to punch some in the bottom using a nail and hammer. Otherwise, your garden will overflow when it rains.
- Add a base layer or sand or rocks, if possible. Cover with dirt.
- Add environment: plant seeds, place plastic trees, add decorative items.
- Insert dinosaurs + PLAY.
I love that their mom bought the boys succulents, but they decided to "plant dandelions."
Looking for an even more frugal alternative? Just buy a pack of dinosaurs and make your pre-existing landscape (aka, your whole yard) their territory. Let the kids use their imagination!
You can find mini-dinos at most Dollar Stores or check out these 7" dinosaurs on Amazon, if you want something a bit larger.
