I used to be one of those people who complained that holiday sales shouldn’t hit the stores until after Thanksgiving. As a mom, I am thankful for any opportunity to plan ahead. Do you feel like time speeds up as of December 1st? This season let’s work together to combat Father Time. I’m teaming up with Stacy from Kids Stuff World and Tiffany from Peanut Blossom to bring you a weekly trio of gift guides between now and the end of the year.

Have you been contemplating buying a Digital SLR? In August, I finally broke down and started shooting on a DSLR. The first time I downloaded the photos from the camera I kicked myself in the head. They were gorgeous. I shouldn’t have waited so long to make the transition.
This is my photography from this summer before and after I started shooting with a DSLR:
*See images in original blog posts: Triathlon vs. Water Fountain. Isn’t that crazy?!?
If you want to make the transition, but are not sure where to begin, our gift guide above is perfect for you. Today’s Mommy & Me Photography 101 gift guide is for beginning family photographers. Feel free to email today’s post to your spouse with a short note, “Hmmmm, maybe Santa will bring me a DSLR this year.” (Alternative variations include: Maybe Santa will bring me a prime lens.)
Note to significant others: If you have *any* questions about the products showcase don’t hesitate to ask!
Photography is an excellent Mommy & Me activity at any age. Whether your child is shooting with a wooden camera or a Kodak, it will bring a smile to their face and yours. Pop on over to the full gift guide and find book titles for kids of all ages about photography. Make it a joint hobby!
Rest assured ladies, I also take a large portion of photos with my iPhone. {winks} Regardless of what you are shooting with, what are you going to do with all those amazing photos? Display them of course! This gorgeous DIY project from Goodwillionaire was inspired by Instagram, click here for the full tutorial.
