Crockpot Ribs With Bourbon BBQ Sauce
How to Make The BEST Bourbon BBQ Sauce + Crockpot Ribs!
  • ½ tablespoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne powder (or more if you like it spicy)
  • ½ tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee (optional — “What is this deliciousness?” mystery-flavor)
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 onion
  • Apple juice
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  1. Pre-heat your slow cooker on high.
  2. Remove the membrane on the back of the ribs.
  3. Mix together the paprika, cayenne powder, brown sugar, seasoned salt, black pepper, and instant coffee together. Rub the spice blend into all the nooks of your ribs.
  4. Chop onion and red pepper into large quarters and create a bed at the base of your crockpot. Pour in just enough apple juice to cover the onions and peppers. Gently lay your rack of ribs on the flavor bed you've created. Reduce your crockpot temperature setting to low.
  5. Mix the barbecue sauce, bourbon, and brown sugar together. Drizzle a small amount of sauce over the ribs and reserve the remainder of the bourbon BBQ sauce for later. Slow cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  6. Pre-heat your grill on high. Slather ribs with bourbon BBQ sauce. Place ribs top side down on the grill and reduce temp to medium-high. Grill until you achieve a nice set of sear markers, at least 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. ENJOY
