The first day back-to-school can be challenging for kids of all ages. If you want to let your little one know you are thinking of them on the big day, give them a little lunchbox love. There are printable lunchbox jokes and 101 playful food ideas all over Pinterest.
The things is, it is OK to keep it simple, too.
I feel like sometimes we moms need to say that to one another.
Don’t let Pinterest make you feel guilty. Let it INSPIRE you.
When I saw this post I knew I’d never sew pocket hearts, but the concept was inspiring… so I pinned it.
The idea crossed my mind again as I packed lunches for the first day of school. We happened to have some felt laying around from an old Kiwi Crate Box (yeah, that’s how we tend to do kid’s crafts at my house). I grabbed an old felt scrap and cut a heart for the girls’ lunchboxes.
*By the way, any color construction paper would work fine, too. Use whatever you have around the house.
Is the photo about a dreaded Pinterest Fail? If you compare it to Helen’s beautiful project, yes. In my daughter’s eyes though, it was a simple reminder that I love her. That is what matters.
P.S. We love our Planet Box lunchboxes.
They are easy to pack, easy to open, dishwasher safe, durable and have a pocket for an ice pack. Ours have lasted forever; this will be our fifth year using them! You can also get cool stickers to customize.
