Happy Birthday to My “Baby”

Happy Birthday to my “baby” today. I am smitten with the song the girls learned at Montessori for this special occasion (sing to the Happy Birthday tune):

We’re glad you were born. We’re glad you were born.
We’re glad you were boooOOooOOooOoOoOooorn.
We’re glad you were born.

When did you get so big?

Do you have any special birthday traditions at your house? Let’s chat in the comments.

Many happy returns! Such beautiful photos. In our house the birthday person gets to set the menu for the day.

Happy Birthday!! As Cathy said, such beautiful photos. We haven’t begun any tradtions with my 3 yr old yet, but this year I’m considering the idea of waking up to a room full of balloons.

My family learned a special birthday song at my elementary school when I was growing up:

“Happy birthday, happy birthday, We love you!
Happy birthday, and may all your dreams come true!
When you blow out the candle, one light stays a-glow,
It’s the love-light in your eyes where e’re you go!”

Happy birthday to your beautiful girl! :D

Hi! I’m (4 days past!) due with our third and seeing your little nugget makes my heart soften. They grow up so fast!! I started a birthday tradition with my daughter and mother as she lives so far away from us. For the past two years, we’ve gone to NYC (we live in CT a little less than an hour away) to have a tea party together. This year was the best yet because my daughter actually began to understand what was going on. As a birthday gift, my mom purchases a fun fascinator hat for each of us to wear. I just love it!! Here are some photos if you have a minute to check it out: http://mylittlehappies.blogspot.com/2012/04/new-york-city-tea-party.html

Thanks for always inspiring me with great ideas for my kids! Brooke
