Stay-at-Your-House Slippers
Do you have a friend who doesn’t need anything, doesn’t want anything? A friend where you’ve both agreed you are not going to give a gift to at Christmas because you both just know how important the other is? This holiday consider buying yourself a pair of wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous slippers and then… Ok, actually I personally didn’t use new slippers for this gift idea, I bought a comfy pair from a local resale shop and washed them (I just couldn’t resist the opportunity to showcase this amazing Etsy store & their felt slippers).
Back to the gift idea! Get out a pen and paper and start by writing “Remember When…” then let laughable, or cry-able, or random, everyday moments down that you’ve spent with her. End your note with something on the lines of:
When I’m with you I feel at home in the world. These slippers are actually for me to keep at your house. Because my house is yours, and your house is mine. I love you and there is really no better way to say that than me giving you an old pair of slippers. XO
Wrap up your slippers and note in a beautifully decorated box, don’t skimp on this detail. Check out Pinterest for creative wrapping ideas if you feel stuck. Now, I admit this gift idea will not resonate well with everyone out there in the virtual world, but I know it will strike a few of you. Trust me when I say, it is received with a wonderful response when given to the right recipient.

Tea of the Month Club
I recently gave up attempted to give up coffee. Still, my hands get cold as I work at the computer during the day and I love a hot cup of {something} to keep my paws warm. My good friend Carrie introduced me to a few delicious teas. I’ve attempted tea in the past, but have failed miserably. Carrie has a secret weapon, local clover honey. YUM. Once I started asking around I quickly learned that many women out there are passionate about tea. Doesn’t the description below sound lovely?
Twelve months of healthy living through tea is surprisingly affordable so treat yourself without any guilt. Fresh loose teas will arrive at your doorstep like clockwork, inviting you on a journey of discovery with each shipment. These are made every other month, and contain two installments each, enough for about 80 cups of tea. Your first shipment of teas will arrive within days.
I admit, I want to join the club. Consider also joining the tea of the month club for YOU and a friend.

Massage Gift Certificate
If you follow Let’s Lasso the Moon on Facebook you know that I recently made an appointment redeemed a 5-month-old massage gift certificate after reading this parenting article. The author writes:
You probably already have most of your holiday gift list completed. Are you forgetting somebody? What about yourself? Are you on your own list? What are you giving to yourself this holiday season? “Give to yourself? That sounds selfish,” you may be thinking. Maybe not. Instead of self-ish, giving to yourself might be creating the condition of self-full. And by becoming self-full you might just be giving to others in a unique and important way.
Check out their amazing list, here is 2 of 12 great suggestions:
Give Yourself the Gift of Seeing It All as Perfect – You won’t always have control over what is happening this December. But you do control how you choose to see what is happening. If your child is being disrespectful to her grandmother, you can see that as terrible or as perfect—the perfect time to help her learn a valuable lesson about respect for the elderly. If your child ignores relatives by playing a new video game, refuse to see it as rude. See it instead as the perfect time to set healthy limits on electronic time.
The number one item on the list? “Give Yourself the Gift of Alone Time – Take time for yourself. Find a quiet spot in the house and relax, read, meditate, or take a power nap. Reenergize yourself with rest and relaxation. You are worth it.”
This holiday season help another woman receive the “gift of time alone” by getting her a gift certificate for a massage. Also, realize you are worthy of making an appointment for yourself, too. If you need convincing Google “the benefits of massage.” {winks}
PS: I love the Uncommon Parenting website, newsletters, blog posts, and books! I highly recommend all of their material.

Chocolate & Coffee Pairing Party for Two
Sometimes my friend Sally just randomly shows up with a smile and a fair trade chocolate bar in her hand.
Friend + Chocolate = Happiness.
The equation is fairly simple, don’t deny it this holiday season. Click here to see some of the amazing chocolate flavors they offer and how to find a retailer near you. Don’t skimp on the wrapping. The ladies over at eighteen25 have a wonderful tutorial and free printable download for the adorable “You Deserve Chocolate” wrapper to your right!
Now this equation is even more enticing…
((Friend + Chocolate) + Coffee) + Party for Two = Sheer Delight.
Do y’all remember your algebra skills? Start with the first set of parentheses and work your way out. Grab yourself some Equal Exchange Coffee & set a date for two, sans-children. In the article The Art (and Science!) of Chocolate & Coffee Pairing they explain:
Pairing chocolate and coffee is like stepping into your kitchen to make your favorite recipe; you are the creative genius and you work to combine flavors that pull your recipe together! Different flavor combinations produce different results; the goal is to find the tastiest combinations.
Doesn’t that sound lovely? An afternoon of experimenting? Conversation over chocolate and coffee? Heaven! Click here for some Equal Exchange Chocolate and Coffee Pairing Recommendations (scroll to bottom of article).

Annual Grow-With-Me Handprint Table Cloth
This last gift suggestion is a sure-fire solution for any grandmother who has it all. This gift has quickly turned into a favorite annual tradition at Nana’s house. The thing that makes this gift so cool is that it “keeps on giving.” You continue to add new prints to the tablecloth every holiday season. Our family has been adding new hand-prints since 2007. It is awesome to see the kids grow and to see their penmanship change.
We also use our Hand-print Tablecloth as a holiday dinner journal by labeling The Stains of Christmas’ Past. For example, “Zina spilled the gravy. December 24, 2009″ with an arrow to my unfortunate biff.
Let’s Lasso the Moon Tip: This is a fun way to ensure the tablecloth doesn’t take on the label of being too special to eat on!
